Default Remote starter for 2000 NBS Suburban?

Need some advice on a remote starter for my Suburban. Can't find an answer to these questions anywhere, so hopefully someone here can help me out.

I'm looking to install a remote starter on my 2000 Suburban 2500. The factory alarm works fine for me, so I was just going to get the basic Viper remote start.

I don't have passkey or any sort of transponder in my key. Do I have to get a bypass box? If so, which one?

I've installed keyless entry on older cars, but this would be my first remote start install. There's nowhere around here to install it that I would trust. After seeing how the Best Buy here "wires" a head unit...

If I go with the basic Viper remote start system, is it difficult to upgrade to the 5706? Or would I just replace the module and wire it into the locks/horn?

I've seen some stuff about a remote start with the factory key. Would that be a similar install to the viper, and can it be done at a reasonable price? Even with the bypass box the viper remote start should come in under $100.

You will need a bypass box.... Directed who is the parent company of avital and viper have what the call a dball and dball2, you still have a vats systemin your truck that will need to be bypassed.... Have an avital with smart start setup in my 99 i can start it with my cellphone, from anywhere i want to so long as my phone and the truck have signal..... The factory remote start on the key fob was only in the nnbs trucks....

Alright thanks. So I'm looking at a remote start system, bypass box and a loader for the bypass box?

Will I need the dball2? Directed also makes a bypass module called DLPKGM that claims to do the same thing. Not trying to be cheap, but if the only gain over getting the GM module is the ability to move it to another brand of car, I'd rather get the DLPK and avoid having to buy the programmer.

The wiring doesn't look too difficult at all, but is there a T-harness so I can keep the clutter down and be able to go back to stock if necessary?

The dlpk works sometimes and sometimes doesnt.... Depending on options originally installed in the truck..... They do have an obd2 harness that simplifies the wriring to a degree....
