Default Radio won't shut off

Got to work, shut engine off and pulled the key out, opened the door, radio keeps playing. Any ideas? First time I've ever had this happen. I put the stereo on standby so it's not actually playing music, but it's still powered on. Kenwood DNX-7140 if that makes any difference. 06 Silverado in sig.

Went back out and shut the door and opened it again, now it's working correctly. Weird. Maybe a bad door switch? When the driver's door doesn't work, the passenger door still does.

Mine does this occasionally. Close door, Open door and close it again...usually fixes it for me.

Sounds like possibly the drivers door switch since the passenger door shuts it off. Next time it happens check to see if all of you interior power items work (power windows, lights, etc). Also check to see if you interior dome light functions as it should when the radio acts up. Could just be the door switch not triggering the acc power relay to open. If that is the case, when it stays on, it should automatically turn off after 10min.

We all get this occasionally. Although, once I had the door-chime adapter fry out and it did this. Replaced adapter, problem solved. Nice stereo, by the way...I've got a Kenwood and love it.

Thanks guys, I'll keep an eye on it. It's been working fine today, so hopefully it's just a rare thing for now.

There is no door switch on a Silverado. It is integrated with the door latch just like the power lock actuator is. Would cost a lot more than $10.

Pull the panel out that has the switches for your power windows/locks. Pull out the bottom plug and check it for corrosion and hit it with a little panther **** to be sure it's clean.
