Mine is the same way.

 

I had the same issues and i ended up measuring the resistance between the key and the bcm with a multimeter and i cut the wire and spliced a resistor w/ the same ohm reading inline w/ a relay (to simulate key being turned on)... it worked like a charm. You might need to do a security relearn once you get it bypassed though. Or, you can just go in and disable VATS in your tune.. both methods worked for me.
