It's possible the battery isn't fully charged yet, considering it was just put in. Checking the ground is another good idea, if you had a voltmeter it would be easier to spot the problem. Also, do you have the radio on every time you notice the flickering?

The new battery may be defective. Ask them to exchange it for you, at least as a "courtesy test."

I would have them check the battery AND the altenator. I have had flickering issues on other cars that I have owned and it turned out to be diodes going out in the altenator. It may only be a few months old but the old battery could have found a weak spot on the alt and stressed it to its breaking point. (or close to it).

Well it looks like it is the alternator, seems if I unhook it all the problems stop. I had them test it on and off the vehicle, passed all tests, but Im sure its the problem. I put the original one back on it, it doesnt charge very well, but its better than overcharging. All this fried a couple of cigar plug accersories I had and starded to make ALL my lights blink, interior, taillights, everything. So time for an exchange!
But could someone TRY and guess at what it was doing? I thought about getting a high output alternator, but it shouldnt fry anything...will it? I just dont understand how the old one was doing that. It still read like perfect voltage on the test

I had this problem the other day when i was driving but not only the lights it also had the flicker on my sound system , the firs thing I checked was my HIDs , I disconnected one at a time and it turned out to be one fog light ballast. the HIDs now are really low quality, i had HIDs in other truck and never gave me any problems for years but the current ones really suck. Also i think you will be fine with a high output alternator , mines is 250 and haven give me a problem in 2 years

Hook a charger to the battery and see if that works. if not, then u know its harness/ballast. those things are pretty fickle, and if the guys installing the battery sparked or crossed the wires, it cuda jolted ur HIDs...

guys, IT IS NOT HID related anymore, ALL my lights are flickering!!! Interior, parking lights, everything! It seems it instantly clears up when I unhook the alternator, but Ive tried 3 alternators, and same with all of them. Also had the NEW battery replaced again, didnt fix it. So I'm at my wits end here. Going to buy a mulitimeter as soon as I can but noone local carries on, so idk when It will be. Anyone else have a damn clue?

someone? anyone? Im fed the hell up with this. Ive spent a **** ton of $$$ and nothing has fixed it. Burnt at least $100 worth of lights out of my truck so far... everything seems related to the alternator. With more engine speed, more flickering. I can unhook the alternator while running and the flickering stops. But Ive replaced the alternator twice now...and ran all new thicker lines from it. WTF? SOMEONE PLEASE CHIME IN!!
