Default need help! factory bose or alpine type s

well first of all this what all i have. clarion vrx585usb flip out dvd player. love it. bypassed factory amp and installed new alpine 300.4 4 channel amp. 2 10" memphis pr subs in a behind the seat box being pushed by a memphis 1000.1 amp.

i did have the factory bose speakers in the doors and a set of kenwood tweeters where the factory bose tweeters were. being pushed by the clarion they sounded ok. once i put the amp in they sounded even better.

tonight i bought 4 alpine type s 6.5" 2 way speakers and replaced my bose door speakers with the alpines. they do not sound good at all. do the bose speakers really sound better than a good set of alpines? i wouldnt think so. can anyone tell me there opinion and give me some suggestions.

the subs sound great. clean quick and crisp. but the highs and mids sound bad. i listen to alot of rock and a little rap but not much. im going for a somewhat loud but clean sound. i have adjusted the filters and gains but nothing helps. its getting frustrating because ive spent all this money on decent things but still doesnt sound good.

can anyone help?

to tell you the truth man, i think those factory bose speakers are some of the best you can have in there IMO. I would just keep those and ditch the alpines... just my .02

The bose speakers run on a different ohm level FYI....

If you're going to amp your door speakers, I'd suggest a good component set, like Focal.

bose is nice...however...everybody knows bose is CLEAR but not LOUD so pick which one you want...if you want both look to shell out some serious cash...either way i would say that basically i would stay away from the type-s as far as a door speaker...look into maybe some RE components...which are about $250ish give or take 25$
