Default Need a hand with my sub from the experts (and the cc guys)

Ok, I have looked at the sticky in this section and I have gone to the12volt.com and looked around at some stuff but I'm not finding exactly what I need. I have a 05 ccsb and I already have the sub and amp out of my last truck. The head unit is factory for now. I have lots of stuff I want to do to the truck so in the interest of saving some $$ and sticking with the factory head unit, I need a little help wiring up my amp.

I have wired up a decent amount of systems so I know how they work and I get all of that. What I want to know is how would you/did you tap into the speakers to run the wires to the amp. Including where did you run your wires (front door or back door) and how do you get the door panel off without breaking something. I know this is kind of a rookie request, but it's my first time with a factory head unit and I rather ask you guys than break something and be

Thanks in advance for all of your input. Anything will be appreciated!

You have to get a line output converter which basically you tap into your rear speakers and it gives you an rca output (check your amp some have these built in there call high level inputs) can't help with the door panels but its a start.

door panels are easy to remove, should be some thread about it, only like 3 bolts, and it pulls right off. now are u asking about gettin a source for the front/rear speakers to the amp (RCA - input) or connecting the speakers to the amp (output).

Input, source to the amp. Since my system is completely stock so I was just going to run power from the speakers to the amp.

like i said you need a line output converter it turns you rear speakers into rca outputs for your amp. any stereo shop will have them i think even walmart carries them.

Cool sounds good. I still haven't messed with the door panel yet. I would like to get an aftermarket head unit instead. I just can't decide.

if you go with the stock headunit, tap the blue wire for your amp trigger

^^^ cool thanks. I might go with the stock unit just because it's so hard to decide which aftermarket to get. And there are about 400 different threads on here about which one to get. lol
