Need to find "switched 12v Source" no yellow wire in harness

IIRC, since '03, all the GM trucks use the databus, the power stays on the wires, no more switched power, even when you open your door, the stereo turns off but the power is still there at the back of the stereo......
However, there is a quick and easy way to do it, and you get the 10 min delay and it will turn off when the door is opened. And you don't need to buy any adapters. It took me almost a full day but I got it worked out and it has been working properly for months now........read on......
The Body Control Module (BCM), which is located behind the lower dashboard, has an output that drives a relay which provides power for the sunroof. (It's there whether you have a sunroof or not)
I located the wire coming out of the BCM, it is found at connector J2-B3 (gray connector body, dark blue wire).
If you get a torch and shine it up at the BCM, you will see GM was thoughtfull enough to mark all the connectors with numbers/letters. Some of these are hard to see as they are really tiny but they are there. You should clearly be able to see which one is J2. Unplug it and look at the back of the plug. You will see one side is marked A and the other B. The little numbers are there too, just tiny and hard to see. B3 is the blue one.
I've tapped into this wire and used it to drive a relay I added. It works perfectly. The relay stays on for 10 mins when you turn the ignition off. As soon as you open the door, the relay turns off, just like the radio and the rest of the electrical system.
I also put a 1K ohm resistor across the relay coil. To be honest, I'm not sure as to it's purpose but I read about it somewhere and thought I'd try it out. Everything works as it should, whether the resistor plays a part I don't know but it's there now and it's worked for months........

Just get a test light and see which plug is always hot and which plug comes on with the key.

Doesn't work like that on '03 and later............

Its usually easier tho to get a harness thats made for that vechile so you dont have to splice into the factory wiring.
I did a quick search and the closest i found to what you should use is on this site.
http://www.installer.com/wires/index...FShEEAodzFaeVw
you want the plug that plugs into the truck.
They also have replacement systems for the databus, but i'm not sure which databus is in the 06 bose system.. probably a class 2.
Hope it helps

I'm assuming you want power for a stereo or amp or something like that. I'm guessing you want it to stay on when you turn off the ignition but turn off when you open your door, just like the factory RAP, yeah? Well then, sure, you CAN buy a harness, go and spend $100 or whatever they cost.
Or you can do it for about $5 or less. Just read my post at the top of this page. I don't think I can explain it any better. All you need is a relay. Pretty much any 12v automotive relay will do. If you know how a relay works, you should know how to wire it up. If you don't know how to wire it up, better let someone else do it who knows.
The important part is you trigger the relay by splicing into the wire at connector J2-B3 (gray connector body, dark blue wire) This is how you get it to work with the factory databus trigger.
