Default MTX Jackhammers

okay guys im just wondering who has ever had the 10 or 12 inch jackhammers.
i use to hae 2 10s and i never had a single problem with them. but last summer i upgraded them to 12s in a mtx ported enclosure with a 1200 watt jackhammer series amp. but ive have had to warranty them out twice now because the sub farthest away from the port twice now the spider has started to separate from cone (or at least this is what i have been told, i am not the smartest when it comes to problems or interiors of a sub). so o was just wondering if anybody has had this problem with these subs in this enclousre also?

Buy JL AUDIO ,you will get bass that you can feel not just loud . The best sub I have had other than a 13W7 is the MTX 15" 9500.

build a new box...problem is on that ported box, too much pressure is being applied to that one driver.
Sealed will lower output by alot.

okay well i have an extended cab truck and want to build a new box form them that can go underneath my back seats the problem is that im not sure how much air space to give them or weather if i can port or not.

MTX says that they need 2 cubic feet or air space for ported and 1.25 for sealed. well i the biggest box i have found online for under the seat is one like 1.25 cubic feet per sub so i could do that if i wanted sealed. but i would like to stick with ported, i just have never seen a ported enclosure for underneath the seat like i would like to do.

wow, underseat of xcab ported is kinda hard, you will need a custom builder for that. But you should have luck locally where your at.

You can custom port the boxes. You can use an online calculator to determine the port length, I did this with my boxes (they're different sizes, one is 1.63 cuft, the other is 1.28 cuft. I tuned them both for 30hz and it worked out just fine.

Check out the "pro bass pro" ported box. AMAZING sound loud and u can feel it. I was pushing one TEXAS BASS 12 with a brutis hyphonix amp in this box and it broke my db tester I placed 1st in a bass comp in my class. But everyone is partial to what they like and I am truly sold on thoes boxes.
