Default mpg display

Hey does anyone know if there is a way to change the readout on the dash display on a 04 gmc, like on the chevys with steering wheel controls. Not sure if there are any gmc with steering wheel controls or not. Kinda bored and happened to think about it. Hope this is the right place to ask if not mods feel free to move it.

I know there was a write up a while back about accessing the menus, I have no idea where it was buried on here though, sorry.

I am still wondering, if all the wiring is there in the trucks that don't come factory with it.

My dads 03 GMC Duramax has steering wheel control, but it also had a chevy steering wheel pretty sure it came from the dealer that way. I always wondered why there was a bowtie on the wheel.
