I just picked up 2 of the new JL 13" flat subs. I am thinking about waiting for a 500 mono HD amp to come out but I don't know if it would really be any better than a regular 500 mono amp. JL has a 700 mono HD out now. Any advice?

 

HD amplifiers? Are you sure thats not just JLs new series of amplifiers and not a type of amplifiers?

edit: alright basically all I've found is that it appears the HD amp is just one of JLs new series. And pretty much what Ive gathered, is that its just as powerful as their old slash series, a full range class D, and they're smaller and stackable like the alpine amps.

 

Don't even worry about getting an amp, those subs suck. Tell ya what, I'll take them off your hands for no charge.


Have you heard these play yet? How do they sound? They worth the coin people got them listed at?

 

if your talking HD as in High Def, then I really dont think it matter to much... it is your bass not mids and highs. Bass isnt as sensitive to small distortions as the mids and highs. Id just get a JL audio 500/1. I have one right now that Im thinking of selling. I was very impressed with its quality and performance.
