Default Finally getting a decent system - Focal, JL Audio, Alpine, RAAMMAT

Well the factory stereo is dying, speakers are blown, soooooo. it is time to get a decent stereo installed... I don't want a super duper boomtastic system, i just want something simple and has nice clean full range sound, after a ton of research and annoying a few members this is what i came up with and hopefully ordering this today...

Deck:
Alpine CDA-9833 (allready bought it)

Front speakers:
Focal Polyglass 165 VB 6 3/4 componets.

NO rear speakers:

AMP:
JL Audio HD Series HD600/4
4-channel amplifier 150 watts RMS x 4

SUB/Box:
JL Audio CP108LG-W3v3 (should fit nicely behind the seat with room to spare )

Since i have never really seen anyone on this site sound deadening/dampening their interior i figured i would give it a shot. I plan on following some write-ups on gmfullsize and RAAMAT website, should be interesting to say the least.... Plus my exhaust is getting on my nerves again ..... so I am ordering 2 rolls of RAAMmat BXT (62.5 sqft each) and 5 yards of Ensolite. I plan on sealing the doors and completely covering the interior with RAAMAT and an additional layer of ensolite in some areas to help with road noise/exhaust/etc...

I heard the focals threw the JL amp at the store and man it sounded NICE!!!

yep, i don't feel like building a box for a 10" and if i did it would not leave much space around the speaker itself due to the depth of the damn speaker.. that box/sub is just easier...

I had a very similar setup in my '03 Corey. I had the CDMA 9885 IIRC with Focal kevlar fronts and Pioneer rear (ambience) , a 12" JL sub stealthbox with a JL500/5 to push it. It was an awesome sounding combo. No dynamat needed.

You might look at the stealthboxes by JL, they have one that replaxces the center consol

that is some good news! when i they cranked up those focals in the store they sounded freaking awesome! and that was in a sound room with the speakers on a board. I can't wait to hear what they sound like in my little truck .

i looked into the stealth boxes, they are kinda spendy, also i think you loose the seat, from time to time, i have to carry 2 passengers in my truck, so i really can't afford to loose that seat...

No, check again, you don't lose the seat. Not in the SB's I've seen. Yes they are pricey but it's the best way to get a big woofer in a small space. Worth the $ imo.

Focals rock. They are very clean, crisp and responsive. Mine were like $700 for the set 7 years ago. JL is as good as they're reputation. Think about a gain control **** for the sub as some tracks will require more or less bass.

this one you lose the center seat if you dont have buckets. There are a number of options and probably other brand enclosures too.

Should sound nice. I deadened the entire cab and doors on my truck and it made a big difference, and I've thought about going over it and doubling up in places and adding some ensolite so I think with all you got it should work well.

Honestly I'd just build a box that goes behind the seat tuned how you want it; it's the only way to get it perfect......not to mention it can be done for ~$20.

RaamMat is top notch stuff, did my front doors with it and it is whisper quiet and makes the speakers sound sooo accurate and road noise is gone on the highway. That spray adhesive is nasty, so be careful where you spray.
