I had my dash completely apart so i swapped in an 03-07 dd bucket and dash trim, but metra makes a kit that includes a new dash trim for the conversion(which of course i didnt see until about a month after i did mine)

I have since swapped to a pioneer and cant remember the model number
Where did you snag the bucket? Salvage yard I would assume...

You assume correctly, they are kind of a pain to get out without removing parts of the dash...

Yea saw a vid on youtube not to bad but time consumer and then mod ash tray and extend HVAC controls. But otherwise you have to cut out a section in the stocker so which one do you do? I think I'm going to just neatly cut out mine....

In hindsight, i wish i had found the metra kit before i did mine! I swapped the buckets while i had my dash apart to change my heater core and evaporator, along with all the other mods i did to the truck. I had to trim a corner of the bucket back, and my ac control actually sits quite nicely, and doesnt move but isnt actually held in by anything but the dash bezel! I almost forgot the ashtray was there, lol been so long since i had it there, i used an 03up lower dash to eliminate the dash mounted cupholders that wouldnt hold a cup in a turn.

From what i have seen modding the stock piece is kind of a pain, almost easier it would seem to go with the 03up bezel and just cut the top of the ashtray!
