Default considering sub install

im thinking about putting a single 12" sub under my back seat. here is what i have found that i like so far

box
Chevy Silverado Extended Cab 1999 - 2006 Single 12" Custom Enclosure Box Sealed Sub Box (Black) - 1X12GMNEW
sub
Pioneer - Champion Series 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 4-Ohm Subwoofer - TS-W309D4
amp
Pioneer - 1200W Class D Mono Amplifier with Variable Low-Pass Crossover - GM-D8500M

i know i will need speaker wire and terminals but what about a capacitor, is it worth spending the money on? also, can i hook this crap up to my factory stereo and make it sound decent? I dont want to spend more than maybe $600 or $700, this will be the first time i have messed with stereo stuff so any helpful info is welcome. thanks

(and i would like to stick with Pioneer stuff since my factory speakers have been replaced by Poineer and i cant stand having mismatched stuff)

For that setup I wouldn't get a capacitor... If you have a weak charging system or small gauge ground wires it might help, but I doubt you'd need it.

I'd do 4 gauge for the amp supply just to be safe. Probably wouldn't need that much but its cheap insurance. And as long as you get some decent terminals you should be ok, haven't used any off the shelf terminals that couldn't handle the current.

In your research, did you happen to run across any regular cab single woofer boxes? I've only found duals.

get your self a 4 guage wiring kit, they come with everything you need to hook it up.
i used this kit on my old truck for 6 years:
http://www.amazon.com/Legacy-LAMP4-G.../ref=pd_cp_e_2
and get 1 of these to install the RCAs to your factory radio:
http://www.amazon.com/Pyramid-NS60-L...d_bxgy_e_img_b

When tuned right these high lows can sound good with factory radios.

I hate to just cut into a thread with some obnoxious sounding opinion, but I've worked part-time in audio for a while. Capacitors are novice material. They essentially do nothing. You shouldn't be worried about voltage, and if you were then I'd suggest you make a call to Kinetik or Shuriken, if all else fails. Also, many local shops carry boxes that are fit to that application. If not, they aren't hard to tack together at all. Just make sure that you get as much airspace possible out of what you buy. I know you want Pioneer, but their car audio is not up to par as far as quality goes. You can get a set of coaxils, a head unit, a box, a sub, and an amp for your budget. I promise you, and you can also get QUALITY stuff, not Pioneer. I can argue to my face turns blue on that subject, trust me. HOWEVER, you might could fit a shallow-mount Pioneer Premier in that box and it be alright. I'm not trying to be negative, but I'm very familiar with audio, much more than anything else. You might think Pioneer sounds good, until you hear what better your money can get you.
