Default Clusters.

a few questions on swaping clusters, no im not gonna ask what i have to do to get the tranny gauge to work, i know that thats plug n play.

What i am going to ask if what all do i have to chose from that will fit in my 06 Sierra Classic?

I know about the denali gauges is there any others?

Also i have the steering wheel controls with all the random options and controls in the message center.. the question is will any cluster work for that or do i have to get a certain one?

also has any bought from these people? good bad experience?

and if i didnt buy thew them who programs clusters for the odo and hrs?

thanks in advance!

::edit:: i figured i might as well add it to this post instead of making a new one.

im also wanting to change out my manual dual climate control w/rear defroster
and i was wondering if any of these 3 fit and would plug in/ work

NBS Denali, NNBS Denali , 2000 corvette

and last but not least, will the Denali NBS black cherry grey looking dash trim clip right on to my 06 NBS sierra?

Thanks again and sorry for the long n00b post.

To answer your questions:

1) You can use any cluster from any '03+ NBS truck in your '06 and Digital Dash Solutions (the eBay seller you referred to in the link) is who I bought my Silverado SS cluster from and I am very satisfied both with his service and the product. Plus he gives you a one year warranty! If you don't buy from him you'll have to pay a dealership $100-$150 to program a cluster for you...

2) You can't swap from manual to auto climate controls because there is an extra plug or two in the harness that goes into the back of an auto climate control module that the manual doesn't have. There have been threads discussing this subject before if you run a search!

3) Yes, the Denali black cherry wood trim will work in your truck and there are many different kits available on eBay and elsewhere!

You'd have to look up one of the other threads on the subject to get that info. All I know is that it's definitely NOT a plug 'n play swap and more than likely not worth the time, effort and $$$ involved to make the conversion work...

no not any cluster will work not even the 03+ ones. going back will always cause codes thrown bc of the newer technology, now if you have the cluster updated then it will work. i bought some from an 03 but put the tranny gauge in my cluster and put the SSS overlay on my cluster too. you could always do that and not worry about anything.

I just bought this cluster off of ebay. This guy shipped it out the very next day and it only took 10 minutes to put in my truck.

Has anyone tried the clusters from this company or has anyone heard anything? They are way cheaper than the others and they have SS and Denali clusters. Thanks in advance.
