Default climate control

quick question.

my 2004 silverado has the slide type dual climate control. wondering if the digital dual climate control is a direct swap. atleast with the digital i could set it to a specific temp and not have to guess.

one plug goes right in, anyone know how to modify the wiring of the second plug to work or what all is involved? it looks like the wiring goes right to the fan switch right now, on the auto climate control it has a bigger plug in place of this one. is there anything else required besides the auto climate control and the pigtail for the smaller connector?

You have to do some rewiring... You also have to install a Temp Sensor for the "Auto" Feature to work...

where is the temp sensor located on the trucks with digi climate control? is there a writeup or wiring diagram/schematic for the 2 plugs on both digi and normal climate control?

The sensor is located above the driver in the headliner. If it has rear-climate control, there is another one towards the back, also in the headliner.

But I don't think I've heard of anybody trying to swap to an auto AC. It's nifty, but seriously doubt it'd be worth the trouble.
