Default back seat

the back seat mod still allows the back to lock in place when in the down position as long as you push it back to grab the built in hoops on the back wall. When you want the back folded down, you just fold up the bottom first and pull the back forward and then release the seat back down. However, you will have to disconnect some retainer cables that attach to the back of the seat.

Yes, like said above, the seat will still catch when in the down position... If you notice when you put the bottom part up, the rear slides upwards aswell... By cutting the tabs down just enough, you give them enough to clear the Hoops behind the seat when you put the bottom up...

Thanks, it's making more sense to me now. New sub box should be here later this week. I'll check it out then and decide if I should do the mod.
