the cargo light wires run to the 3rd brake light under the headliner. There really is no easy way to get to that from the bed except to run the wires into the cab and up to the wires under the headliner.

dont over do it to where you start having electrical problems, just see what how much voltage you can take out with out burning anything up

Hey Ipguy, were you able to get em lights connected? I'm looking at doing the same setup as yours with Putco LED lights, can you share some info as to how you did yours?

Thanks, Andy

id imagine they run up one of the a pillars to the 3rd brake light. id tap em there and run those to a relay under the dash then out back to yer lights.

Would it not go to a relay before going up to the lights? If so does anyone know what one it is? I would like to put up 2 small lights to help when I am working in the dark off my truck.

id think it would, but the stock relay wont be very big nor will the wiring since its only powering two small exterior lights anda cluster light.

I do not exatly how much these Putco LED lights draw, but typically, LED lights draw very little amps. That been said, do you guys consider I'll still need a relay or should I be OK tapping the lights into a constant power supply, perhaps the trailer wiring harness

I tapped into the dome light on mine, and have it wired to a switch where I can have it come on with the dome light (which means it works with my remote as well), or on at all times. I bought the led's off of superbrightleds.com, they are very bright. I didnt go to the cargo light because I find that light blinding when im trying to do something in my bed.

And my underhood light since gm was too cheap to give us one after 02...
