Default big three ground questions

hey guys im looking for some insight on where the best place to run auxiliary grounds for my big three upgrade.i tried to find a post about it but couldn't( sorry if there is a thread about this already) my truck is a 1500 ext cab with the 5.3 in it and as far a the amp and wires i have 4 awg kicker wire going from the battery to the 600 watt (rms) amp mounted under the back seat and for now i have a cheapo section of 4 awg going from alt to the factory junction block. i now have a dual post battery so im going to run the amp and alt wire directly to the top positive terminal (using left over 4 awg kicker wire) or should i spend a bit to get 1/0awg

now on to the part i am not so clear on..finding the best ground location. the amp is grounded to the factory jack crank stud (the 14mm or one) and dont know if that is really the best spot but it worked for initial install. i also am not sure where the best place to augment the battery negative connection or bat. to engine block, block to body, frame to body or bat to body

Basically i am asking where you have your grounds run for the big three pics would be helpful or good descriptions

thanks

I haven't done mine yet, but to answer your question, anywhere on the frame will work. I would drill my own hole sand the frame down to bare metal, and bolt it securely with a nut and bolt. Also, I would use 1/0. 4awg isn't that much larger than factory, just my $.02.

I used 2/0 wire because I had some lying around in the shop.

I ran Battery + to Alternator
Battery - to the bracket for the factory junction block.
Frame - to the other bolt on the factory junction block.

be sure when you do your frame ground you scratch off all of the frame coating where you're going to put your ground, it's some nasty stuff.

i'm sure in the end that is what i will wind up doing, maybe not the 1/0 awg. looking at prices and its just not in my budget right now so i hope that 4 awg plus whats there should do on the ground side anyway. just trying to see what people have done and how well it works..thanks though

Correct. There are 2 bolts there for that bracket. I just used one for the - side of the battery and one for the frame.

I'll snap a picture of it for you if I get into the shop today.
