It's been a long time since I've done an alarm install. I hav e anew one and want to put it on the gmc. The truck is man locks and windows so that will be easier. Anyone have the color codes/ wiring diagram? Ay issues I will run into?

 

What year is the truck? The best place to look up diagrams if you're not an alarm dealer, is the12volt.com.

EDIT: just saw your profile. with a 2002 the install is cake because your BCM is behind the knee bolster and thats where pretty much all your connections need to be made.

 

yea ive used the12volt.com for lots of wiring.. its a good resource.

NOTE #1: This vehicle uses GM'S PASSLOCK 2 ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM that requires a 791 Bypass Module to Remote Start, to order go to the SECURITY BYPASS MODULES Page on this website. NOTE #2: The IGNITION #2 wire WHITE must be connected to prevent a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT from turning on and to prevent DAMAGE to the TRANSMISSION on this Vehicle. NOTE #3; The BCM is located behind the Drivers Side of the dash, the plugs on the BCM face towards the rear of the vehicle. NOTE #4: The ECM is located NEAR the Battery, low, between the fender and the fan, under a BLACK PLASTIC Cover, on the 4.3L engine the tach wire is @ Pin 20, in the connector labled RED. On the 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L engines, the tach wire is @ Pin 10 of the RED Connector. NOTE #5: use TAN (-) for the Drivers door located in PURPLE PLUG, PIN B4, for the PASSENGER door use a ORANGE (-) in the PURPLE PLUG, PIN B2 or a DK BLUE/WHITE (-) in a LT BLUE PLUG, PIN B11, when connecting an alarm you must use both wires and diode isolate.
