Optimas used to be great batteries. My old one lasted 9 years and still started my truck. Over the 9 years I ran it dead multiple times, had two alts die on it and it kept ticking along. I replaced it with a newer one and have had nothing but problems with it. Im looking at other brands for my next one. A friend of mine has two yellow tops in his F250 and has had lots of problems with them too.

Optima's are complete crap, Odyssey/ Sears Platinum (same Battery) is the best hands down.

XS Power all the way. Hands down tougher and longer lasting than either Odyssey or Optima (nothing wrong with Odyssey, just not as good output).

Is the output based on CCAs?

So, got my battery today. Seems as though I ordered the wrong one.
I ordered the D3400 instead of the D4800.
SX recommended the 4800, that is why I ordered it.
What should I do? Return it or keep what I have.
I think they are both great batteries but why would they recommend one over the other?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I think the only reason they recommended it was physical size is closer to the OE battery. The 3400 has superior output.

So I should be good with the 3400? It'll save me the trouble of returning it and waiting for the new one to arrive.

Thanks for the reply

Thanks Sub

With everything you have, do you run a dual battery set up?
