Optima yellow and red tops are great but they're gel filled batteries so if you don't drive it basically everyday it's not worth getting because they'll go bad is what I was told on them. just get a good duralast gold or platinum battery

Went through 2 red tops that didn't last at all. Got a Duracell from Sams club and it has been perfect. Cheaper too.

I have the autozone duralast platinum. Great battery and made in the USA. Most others (Optima included) are foreign.

Best battery for Audio is Odyssey or XS

AGM batteries like the Optima are actually great for letting them sit up. They aren't quite as bad about sulfation as a wet acid battery, as it sits up and discharges.

Optimas used to be great but it seems like they outsourced production (US to Mexico maybe?) and quality went to crap. I've got an older red top in my ISS right now and I can't even remember how long ago I bought it. That said though I don't think with their reputation over the last few years that I would buy another.

On the Duracell, they're just licensing their name to whoever is making that battery; wonder who it is? Johnson Controls makes the Optima, and a bunch of others.

Which Duracell did you get, the AGM or other?

Odyssey are a great battery and are not made by one of the mainstreams like johnson so it's not a rebadge......
