Default Best Alarm System

Besides sleeping in my truck with a 12 gauge, what's the best alarm system out there? Something that will disable the ignition and work with a back up battery? Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks
Jim

Default GOT To GO COMPUSTAR

Jim, I would seriously consider the compustar 2wFM900AS, this unit is a two way pager/remote starter system with a mile and a half range. It features a impact/glass sensor, shock sensor, tilt sensor(no towing) The remote kicks as it is LCD, with feedback from your truck.Compustar is manufactured in the USA and is tested in Ancorage Alaska for durability, it is absoulutly the best that I have installed, and Ive installed them all.You will need a GM Data bypass to do the remote starter part but these are readilbly avaliable.I would be happy to get you the wire diagram for your truck if you feel up to a little challenge. web site is www.compustar.org Sure beats seing two black strips on your driveway whre your truck used to be
Dan.

Thanks for the reply. I would really appreciate any info you could send me. I'm a little fussy about who works on my vehicles so I would be installing this myself. I will probably be taking delivery of the truck this week so In gotta move my butt and get something soon. I don't really live in a bad area but ya never know? Do you sell & install these things?

I would like to shoot the Ba***rds but then well you know.

www.directed.com I just had a Viper 1000 installed in my truck 2 days ago. Really slick. It was $430 installed with a glass break sensor. You can pretty much put whatever optional sensors you want on it. I still need to get a back up battery. But am contemplating some way of locking the hood instead.
