Default BassLink X

Hey Guys,
Thinking of adding some bass to the factory system in my truck. I like the looks of the Infinity BassLink. A compact powered 10" sub. It comes in two models, one being more expensive (BassLink X) and has 4 low level and 4 high level inputs. Would I need it for my truck. It's a non Bose system.

TIA for any input.

I have the regular Infinity Basslink and I'm really happy with it. Gives just the right amount of punch for my needs. I basically tapped into the speaker signal wires and that's where the amp get's it's signal. Installation is a piece of cake. Here's some pics:

That looks clean. Which way do you have the speaker pointing? I am assuming forward with radiator rearward. Are you using the factory head unit?

My install will be a little more difficult in that I'm in an extended cab. Will have to fab up some kind of plate to mount the base to the truck I think.

Hmmm. Nix the above statement. Looks like it can be mounted horizontally also. Gonna give one a try....

Yep, I'm using the factory head unit. I made a wooden L-shaped base that I painted grey, it slips over the jack stowage conpartment to mount the unit to. Like you mentioned, it comes with brackets to mount it vertically or horizontally

Keep us posted on the Basslink install Ky, I'm looking to get one for my truck. I'm hoping to mount it under the rear seat somehow.

Can you move the seat all the way back?

Just about, if the seat back was straight up I guess. If I had removed or modified the jack stowage cover, I could have mounted the Basslink on the floor allowing for more room for the seat back to tilt with the seat all of the way back. Since I'm only 5'10" if I stretch my neck with my chin up, it's perfect for me as is. I left my seat position exactly where it was prior to installation...seat back tilted just right, seat bottom about 75% back off the top of my head (gotta be able to touch the pedals )

It may be able to squeeze in between the two seats with some creativity, really not sure. Not sure if a center jump seat or full console would provide more room, or how protrusive the Basslink unit would look. Removing the jack stowage container opens up a bunch of different options, I just chose to keep mine for whatever reason.
