Default Adding subs question

I have a 2007 new body style crew cab. How would I go about putting in subs? What I am wondering is if there is any product out there that would plug in the harness somewhere that will give me the signal I need. Also has anyone put an aftermarket headunit in and how does it look?

if you are wanting to keep the stock head unit you can put a simple line output converter hooked to any of the 4 set of speaker wire.....if you want to get a little better sound you can wire in a re-Q or clean sweep. line outputs run around $25 with the re-Q and clean sweep considerably more...

this all assuming you dont have bose.....

I just had an aftermarket put in my 07, and it sticks out about a 1/4 of an inch. If I wouldve known it was going to do that I wouldve left the stock cd player in it.

Did you put it in to use the line outs? Do you have any pics? And finally what headunit did you use?

If you put in an after market HU, you won't need a LOC. You'll be able to go RCA to RCAs.

LOC's are for stock decks that don't have RCA's and need the signal converted to rca. I always suggest an aftermarket deck, unless you like the look of the stock

I went with a Kenwood DDX512. I will try to take some pics of it.

I plan on doing the same thing as the Original Poster. I am using the stock deck, non-bose but I was wondering if anyone knows that colors the speaker wires are and what ones are negative and positive. I do have a Line Out Converter

for wiring colors...

Driver Passenger
TAN (+) L GREEN Front
GRAY (-) D GREEN
BROWN (+) BLUE Rear
YELLOW (-) LT BLUE

but know that mixing up pos and neg wont do you harm.
