Does anybody know if you can just add remote start to the factory system. i had a aftermarket system on my last 03 and hated it. so i was hopeing that i could just add to the factory.

i have seen a box that could be added to the factory system. you just push the unlock 3 times. i just can't remember where i saw it. maybe it was crutchfield. seems like it was pretty cheap too, under 50 bucks i think.

I had a 2000 camaro and spliced the wires together that unlocked both doors and just the drivers, so one push opened both doors and 2 pushes started the car. Ill look for the thread and post it up, Id bet yall could do the same.

But does the factory remote start the truck too? I don't want to carry two remotes.

I talked to the dealer about this when I was out there, The new GM Cars use a differnet set up compaired to ours so they have not switched. They claim the 07 hoes and 07/08 new trucks will have it but ours doesn't do it as far as he knew.
