Thinking of moving the 6.5"s out of the doors into kick panels and then putting some 8" free airs in their place. Yes/No? I plan to add a single 10" in a box behind the drivers seat.

if it is 8" subs you are talking about i would dynomat every square inch of the doors, then maybe you wont hear too much rattling...i think i would leave it alone if it where me, the higher end 6.5 and 7" do a good job at providing mid bass to the front sound stage (if that is what your after). i always like my bass in the back so it doesnt muddy my mids and highs in the front.
if i am way off and it is an 8" midbass instead of a sub then go for it, but i would still use some dynomat.

Do you have bench seats or bucket? If you have bench seats you can make a box like mine. I'll post pics when I get home. It's two 6.5" subs that go in front of the cup holders on the center console. I wouldn't do 8's and 10's. You don't want both sets of subs playing the same frequency, and the 8's and 10's will be too close in size to allow you to separate the frequencies they play. I have my 10's low passed at 50 Hz, and my 6.5 subs bandpassed from 50 to 80Hz...then my regular midrange drivers are highpassed at 80Hz.

Well my plan was actually to use the 8" "subs" as mid-bass (from about 65/70Hz up to about 250Hz or so). I prefer to be able to "split up the work" between different drivers. I have a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5s that I'm planning to put in the truck (currently have the el-cheepo Rockford components that I had laying around...) and while they work really well at mid-bass reproduction, I still like the ability to tweak a bit more.
I have the bucket seats (reg cab) with the center jump seat (actually use the jump seat) so I'm stuck putting just a single 10" box behind the seat (still need SOME room to put things behind the seats). So you are using 6.5" subs? I thought about getting a set of 6.5" subs to put in the doors (vs. going 8") but can't seem to find free-air versions.

my point was simply that good midrange speakers will hit as low, though not be as loud, as an 8" sub (if all you are wanting is mid-bass) and would not rattle your doors near as much. i would stick with 6.5" in the kicks and doors and run your single 10" behind the seat. run the sub 80hz and lower and the 6.5's 80hz and up and it should blend quite nicely....

would I gain anything having the extra pair of 6.5"s (for mid bass only) in addition to the Kappa 6.5s or should I just stick with the Kappa 6.5s only and just to a single 10?

if you have the $, can do the mods to make them fit, and want to run 8's in the doors, look at the HAT L8's. they are specifically made to be about fool proof plug and play IB in doors or kicks.

DLS has some that are good and won't break the pocket, but won't perform like the HAT.

7" mid bass, 4" mid range, 1" tweeter plus one ten in the back and you should be good.
I don't understand why you want an 8" speaker in your door - not loud enough? Not accurate enough? There's lots of 6.5 sets that have mucho midbass and when paired with the correct amp are about loud enough to knock any girls clothes off.
