Default 30" woofers

My buddy has a set of old electa voice 30W 30" woofers. Would these work in a vehicle application? I'll see if I can get some pictures. How much do you think he could get for them?

I found some more info, lol:

Optium ported box is 50ft^3, tuned at 21.8Hz, with a 12" diameter vent 1.5" long. This woofer is 101db 1w/1m I think, so your got yourself some pretty high output even with 30w. Inroom, -3db point is 20Hz. Its excursion limited to 60W, but dont give it too much more than 30W which is its thermal limit.

Cool man.
make them fit somehow!

When i was into audio, we came across some 30"ers from an old movie theater.
Never did much with them though, cuz they were 16 ohm and huge.

thatd be a +1 for the cool factor, but functionality would be sacraficed because thats a lot of air to push, so count fast paced music out, otherwise it wont be able to keep up

Maybe I can build a box and put them in the back of my truck. Then ride around with some low freq hum and kill all the love bugs and mosquitos (sp).
I can send the bill to the city every month, lol. All the pics I found don't do the speakers any justice. They are frick'in HUGE. I;ll try to ride over and take some pic's for you guys. I think he's fixing to put them in a garage sale.

Those are for PA speakers...the biggest speaker I've ever come across designed specifically for car audio was a 30" audiobahn. theres a lot of subs around 20". Autotek makes a pretty cool 21" sub that *****.

people always try to relate speaker size and speed... completely unrelated.

As for functionality, if your going for a cool factor, it will deffinatly have it! Clarity and output? probably not

while cool, IMHO, not daily functional.

You could blow through if you sealed off your entire box? If that isn't functional, I don't know what is!
