Default 15-18 Truck Key On Accessory Wires

Hey guys,

What wires are you using to hook up key on accessories? I have a radar detector that I would like to stealth mount and I'm nervous about cutting into the wrong wire. I know the newer style trucks have a canbus system that I don't want to disturb. My older truck it was simple. Thanks for your help!!

Just run a mini-tap. Simple and easy.

That's what I plan on using but what wire would I tap into? There are two fuse boxes one on each side of the truck in the cab. Is there a go to wire that everyone has used to hook up accessories? With my old 2003 it was simple no CAN BUS system to interfere with. Or am I just making this more complex in my head and just find a key on wire?

You’re in your head. I use these and they work well.
