Had two Pioneer shallow mounts in my old Avalanche. They were decent but nothing amazing, you won't get that low bass like you are probably expecting. I would find two 10's that will fit in the airspace you are wanting to mount them. I have two JL 10W3V2 (older model) that hit plenty hard and should fit under a rear seat. If you have to go with shallow subs do it but I would avoid them personally unless absolutely the only option.

I have two Kicker 12" CVT's in a subthump box being pushed by a Phoenix Gold 1000W monoblock and it's the best setup I've had. Quick response and clear sound, it all boils down to matching the right subs to the right amp. The Fosgate shallow mounts sound pretty good too.

 

Hands down the best shallow mount sub is Stereo Integrity's BM mkIII. The mkIV is due out shortly. It's worth the wait and I will be converting over to them when the finally come out.

 

I had Pioneer Slim subs and really liked them.

Ive got 2 Kicker CVTs waiting in my room now for the burgundy truck so we'll see how I like those.
