Has anyone installed a backup camera on an 08 GM truck with Nav? I would like to add this option and am searching for someone with experience and advise. Did a Google search and found a couple, but they were old and had very few details. Thanks

 

i know this doesnt help,but if its a factory navigation truck i think theres a tail gate handle surround er bezel or w/e that has one built into it.

 

The one in the tailgate handle surround is an option on the Avalanche. The OE camera on the Sierra came as part of the license plate mount. I saw one on the internet someone had done and placed it into the plastic along the top of the tailgate and it looked like a nice install with better visibility. That is the option I am hoping to complete but don't know what will work with my Nav and what needs to be added.

So has anyone tried adding the tailgate bezel rear camera to a 07 or 08 factory nav equipped truck?

thats my truck and they didnt come with factory back up in 08 so i added it . it cost me about 350 bucks.

the cam kit you want is here on ebay search for " Factory Silverado Sierra Back Up Camera "

that the kit and it has instruction on how to program it with a tech 2.
