04 silverado bose bypass how to?
#1
anyone have a link or an exact how to on ditching Bose amp, speakers and all that crap. I know you can bypass the amp by running all new wires but I'd rather tap into those wires to the speakers after the amp. Is this possible? "run wires from radio to factory wires going to doors after bose amp." how would I keep door chime? Wire it to a separate speaker? Wire what exactly to it? Lol. Old cars were so easy with stereos.
I have a new kenwood touch screen and only the rear door speakers are working. I bought a used gmos device and I am not sure if it is the culprit or if the Bose amp is bad. I don't plan on running an amp. Too cheap. I do have a set of component speakers but will need one more set. All advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I have one. I just feel like somewhere someone has a great write up. It would take me longer to do it all myself when someone has done it and gives a great time saving how to. If not i may end up paying a shop to do it. I just hate to pay someone when writing isn't that hard. The time is the issue. Also 12 volt .com is of no use to me. I have a diagram already.

Werd...same reason I copied off the smart kid in high school, it was just faster and easier to let him do the work.

amp should be under the center console for you year, so I could just run speaker wire from your radio to where the amp is. If you have a diagram, then you already know the proper wiring colors to your speakers, just wire that to the corresponding speaker output from your radio, and that's all she wrote. If you want to retain chime, I'd suggest using a scosche harness, as the chime comes from their module in the harness rather than playing through your LF speaker like the metra pieces.

I got an estimate today on installation of two pairs of componants and an amp bypassing the factory bose crap. Guess how much. . . .

I would use the factory bose amp for your aftermarket speakers. Im going to tear into mine this winter
(2004 4door silverado). my plan was to buy the metra harnesses to keep door chimes, onstar, and steering wheel controls woorking properly. Im going to keep the bose amp in place and functional as well, and upgrade the door speakers. ill leave the factory sub working as well, but i will run the rca's off the head unit to subwoofer(s) in the rear. From my research this can be done with no problems.
