I just put aftermarket speakers in the rear doors of my truck, they sound great, they are Polk audio dxi650 speakers. Will be doing the others and a head unit soon.

I love my bose system, dont think I could catch myself replacing it. I did install a JVC 7" dd radio. But I couldnt get any sound without the amp (the one wire I didnt think I needed to wire up.) at the time I didnt know bose had an amp.

Why have cheap **** installed for outrageous prices when you could spend that money on good parts?

In my 05 sierra I just unplugged the Bose harness behind the dash and the metra non-Bose harness plugs into the factory stereo wires there. They basically run a redundant wire harness to the Bose system for power, speakers and the remote output for the amp. The only issue you may run into is the front channels are split into the midrange and tweeter so you may have to get creative there but mine works for now. I'll be installing some components up front soon so I was ok with not hooking up the tweeter for now.

Anything that sounds good. The time and money spent on having someone else do it would be better spent on quality stuff done yourself. Then at least you know its done right and not hacked up by an "audio professional"

it will definately be an upgrade. From what i understand the headunit hold the stereo back allot. I absolutely love the polks in the rear and cant wait to replace the front and install a headunit
