Default 03+ radios...are they interchangeable?

I have a friend who is looking to upgrade the standard AM/FM unit in his 2500HD (it's an 03 or 04) and I wanted to make sure that any of the factory 03+ CD players will work. I know that the HU's are deeply entangled in the electronics of the truck and wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any problems upgrading from AM/FM to the CD player, and if the 03/04/05 year-model HU's are interchangeable w/ each other. Thanks!

But you'll need a dealer to unlock it.

Yes, but you need to make sure not to mix a lux and a non lux, and bose and non bose.

The dealer charged me $80 to re learn the vin on a H2 Nav head unit.
