Default A "Who would win?" thread

My friend, has a friend with a Vette. He's the kind of guy you'd just as soon punch in the face than talk to. Cocky and annoying, yet fat and no girlfriend
Anyway, my friend is trying to get me to line up with this guys vette. My buddy knows nothing about going fast and weight to power ratio etc...he just think I have a blower so I will win. I tried to explain but, you know, good guy but just doesn't get it.
The Vette is 100% stock (add a sub box) 2004 Automatic.
I'm putting down about 450/450 last time I was on the dyno. @5800lbs

How bad would I get crushed from a dig?
I wouldn't even bother trying from a roll.

Never been to 1/4 track. I ran the 1/8 with my old 5.3.

1 run, spun and ran a 10.1 Broke #7 on the same run. Never went back. I doubt I'm running 13's though
Does the Vette get a 4l60e? Since hes automatic, at least he would have the same gear spacing as me.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I would get drug. I just wonder how bad it would be. If it ever happens I'll get it on video.

It would REALLY **** this guy off if I hung with him even a little bit.

I have a MP122 sitting here. And I'm pretty sure a stroker/80E is in the future. Plus a small shot of laughing gas. Maybe I'll just wait.....

Any idea what I would need HP/TQ wise to get close?

Well, pretty much if its an automatic, you just push on the gas pedal

Sounds kind of lame for a Corvette(Corvette+Automatic="kind of lame"). Does your friends truck have 4 wheel drive, maybe you might get him off the start, but I doubt that a 5800ib vehicle reguardless of its power could outperform a vette

I don't know. It's not like its a Z06 or a new 427. It's just your average, base model, I got a small weiner, Corvette. Convertible even.

And yes, auto vette is
I told him anyone that buys an automatic Corvette is suspect to me.

He would take you from almost any start. You are putting down some good numbers but the 5800 lbs. weight is KILLING you...

Little research:
350 @ 5600rpm
360 @ 4000rpm
3248lbs.
So if I can shave 2000lbs off the Tahoe, I've got a shot
