About the law, my buddy got pulled over and ticketed for just that last weekend. Cop stated no info could be covered, including the word TEXAS. The frame he has on his rear plate is the one he got from the dealer when he bought the truck. Pretty stupid picky **** if you ask me.

Illegal. Found out about 2 years ago when I got the wife's 04 Tahoe. The dealer didn't put frames on the plates and told me it was illegal cause they would cover the word TEXAS.
Not that I wanted them on anyways (frames advertising the dealer).
