i hear its illegal to have license plate frames, and that their pulling people over and giving them tickets...but i havent seen it on the news and dont know anyone who has gotten this ticket. i see license plate frames every day on most cars. o-reily still sells them, and dealerships still put them on cars.

whats the answer? are they illegal or not?

the reason i ask is because im looking at plate lighting options for my rollpan and the billet lighted license plate frames look like my best option. i wanted to use the led license bolts but i will have a flip down plate and dont know if the wiring would work with the plate bracket.

 

I read the law on that, and if I remember correctly....as long as it doesn't cover the information on the plate, it's fine.

you can get a ticket for those as well...
if the cop is feeling shitty enough,
expecially if you have been racing and he wants to hit for a few other items to add to the list
