but does it have a 302 - VERY RARE... that was the point i was making - they had around 500hp from factory - factory race car 302 small block w/ Muncie 4spd. made specifically for the Trans Am racing series in their time

Yep those "DZ" cars are worth a ton of money. Funny thing is that it is a 283 crank and a 327 block. This yeilded a 302 small enough displacement to compete in the Class II Trans-Am, GM answer to the Boss 302. I have read that it was just an experiment by GM and they found out that the motor loved to rev. However it was only rated @290 hp.

ive always heard it was a 283 block bored .030 over
it may have been the Can-am races idk i just watched a show about them on speed
i know they had to be rated at higher hp or they wouldnt have been race motors or be worth so much today...

As for HP, they were rated at 290, but were actually like 400hp.
And it only cost $800 dollars more than the normal camaro, sick huh

my favorite for sure! My dad had one EXACTLY like it, although it was chocolate with white stripes, 302 and all. He paid 5000$ back in 1970 but then sold it 3 years later cuz my mom couldnt drive stick BTW, MOM you SUCK!!!!!
