Default Stupid License Plate Lights

Hey yall...

Need a little help finding replacements for the rear license plate. Any suggestions?

And while we're at it, I'd like to replace just the bulbs in the tail lights with something more clean, and not HID's...they wear out too fast.

HIDs dont wear out to fast. but HIDs are for your headlights. Did ya mean LEDs?

If your burning up LED bulbs then your getting bad bulbs -- they last "forever" supposedly

and what do ya mean clean?

I've seen vehicles with LED license plate bulbs. Thought about doing that myself. I don't know if anyone's selling LED tails for your model truck. I know there's the conversion kit for 'Kons/'Hoes of '99+ that converts the tails to the Escalade-like LED tails. To me, the LED bulbs in stock housings aren't bright enough in the daytime.

Brad...thanks for clarifying that. And yes the LED's and I meant something more true white, not the cream white that the lights are showing now.... just old looking. I haven't done anything to the tail lights because there's nothing on the market that really appeals to me. Even tinting the tails has lost it's flavor. And by the way, we added the Fire & Ice Line under the tailgate. The old one fried. I picked this one up from Stylin' and it's pretty sweet.

Oh, as far as the STUPID license plate lights, it's the whole assembly. It's not snapping into the hole in the step of the rear bumper. So if I have to replace one, I'd like to replace them both. I just haven't found the alternative.

Thanks...

Lisa

Ok...

I stopped at the dealership and picked up one of two housings....the second will be in tomorrow.

I ordered the 194's for the plate lights. If those show the way I'm looking for, the tail lights aren't far behind.

Thanks for the reference SnakeOiler

You dont use the same bulbs at the headlights but they do make bulbs for the reverse lights as well.
