Default Southern video?

I’ve wanted to make a video using some new editing software I bought recently; since this semester I will be taking a video/digital editing class for an elective. I’m no editing guru by any means but I would like to try and attempt to make a short video for the Southern section as it’ll give me some good practice for the upcoming class. It’ll be a typical video with pictures and video clips w/ music in the background. With that being said, would any of you be interested in submitting some material? My truck is way too boring to make a video with.

Let me know fellas.

Oh, also for Houston area locals…if any of you guys are interested I can meet up with some of you and get footage or pics if you want to be in it but do not have the means to video your truck.

The video editing guru has spoken.

Wow I really appreciate you sending me a copy of the disk! Thanks!

As far as the software goes according to my syllabus it's Adobe Premiere Pro, and Microsoft Movie Maker 2. I bought Adobe Premiere Pro and Cyberlink Movie Producer, Premiere is just nuts..I don't have a clue how to use it. The Cyberlink stuff is okay so far it terms of how easy to edit things...but it seems pretty limited in what you can do, so it's a little dissapointing. What software did you use to make your videos? They are very well done!

I use pinnacle studio 10 (I have signed up for their beta program, so I have a non-public version). I figured out my hardware issue is really a pinnacle issue and pinnacle apartly isn't used to "compilation" video makers. Importing already "converted video" causes some tranisition issues. So I am "in" with their staff on helping me fix it. I get to use their upload site for their "own" projects. They don't give pointers but they are helpful. It is an unstable software IMO.

As you step up into Premiere and the good stuff it gets crazy. That's were my laziness kicks in. LOL The hardest part to my video is learning to take one clip and break it into multiple parts so you can do multiple effects and make it appear as one smooth transition, one clip. After that, it's your imagination. And dealing with the computer freezing up all the time. LOL Learning to implement some photshop techniques is fun also.

I’ve heard of Pinnacle Studio actually, it must be some pretty dang good software if you can make the kinds of compilations you’ve created. I wonder if they have a 30 day free trial LOL. Cyberlink Movie Producer is a pretty cool program so far, it’s just…I dunno…limited as far as manipulating the video clips. But I can’t judge anything yet as this is all fairly new to me and I definitely don’t have the credentials to say whether or not a product sucks LOL. Did you make the PT.net video 3 using the beta software from Pinnacle? Hopefully they get all the bugs worked out..I’d really be interested in picking up a copy after this semester is over. I just went to the book store and picked up a (literally) 4 inch thick book w/ dvd on Adobe Premiere Pro. I have my work cut out for me for sure; the only thing I know how to do in premiere is upload data from my video camera LOL.
