Default Son Of A ...!!!

well, im comin home from work and following an 18 wheeler down the highway, he swerves and i see a large (about 50 ton) jack under his truck, i swerve only to hit the 2nd jack that i DIDNT see!!!!!! i bent a rim, blew a tire, bent the trans crossmember, bent the factory y-pipe, bent the muffler, and who knows what else.....then as i am changing the tire a guy pulls up to pick up his jacks and when i mention police report he drives off. i got his plates and filled out a police report. i will get the damage appraised tmrw. maybe i will get lucky and be able to take the check and get headers/ypipe/exhaust/tune i have a friend with a spare wheel so im just gonna see how bad the damage is on a lift, fix what has to be fixed and use the rest for parts.....i geuss things could be worse.....but im still pissed

What a dumba$$! (the guy who dropped the jacks, lol) He saw the damage he caused by dropping them and came back?? LOL, your in the clear. Call you ins. and give them the report. You should be covered if you have unins. motorist policy or he has coverage.

If your insurance company has to pay for the damages, make sure you tell them that the jacks were IN MOTION in the street when you hit them. If they were in motion, it gets marked off as comprehensive, which should lower your deductible and won't count against you or raise your rates.

Damn that sucks, same thing happened to my mom today, she was following me back to the dealer to have her car 05 deville checked out for a engine light and out of no where there is a fukin brick in the road, rite on the other side of the hill, so moma duke hit it, blew out the tire and smoked the rim, the car behind her hit it also, both of them blew there tires out. So this all to be a fun story to tell the insurance LOL.

at least no one was hurt and you got his plate number, with that info your insurance should have no problem pursuing his insurance (or him personally) for recovery of the damage costs.

well the estimate is 2200 right now but my insurance is coming to appraise the damage also. i will take the higher estimate and get a check cut and fix the damage myself....1 wheel from the dealer is 700 so i will probably get wheels, headers, ypipe, and have a friend who owns a body shop fix the crossmember for me on the side....i wouldnt let him appraise the damage because i dont want anyone to think im trying to pad the claim...i want to be honest, unfortionately
