The spider gears in the posi were in pieces when I opened it up. It was an Auburn pro series posi. It worked fine at 480 rwhp but I just broke 2 in a row. The people that make the detroit locker recommended a true track posi so I ordered 1 today. I need a bigger rear end and I don't think this will hold up for future plans but I'm just trying to get down the track again this year. The trans is going to Rock On for an up date.

 

Oh, ok cool, at first when you said spider gears I was thinking stock. I've never opened up or installed a Eaton or Auburn posi so excuse my ignorance. I had to pay to get mine installed as I didn't have the time or tools to do it myself...Zed

 

Sounds like fun pushing a heavy *** truck on the trailer sounds all too familiar unfortunately

 

The 1 I ordered has a helical gear and no parts that will wear out. I haven't seen it yet so I'm in the dark as to how it works. These folks sponser Johnny Lightning and he's running 9's w/ this unit in a 9" rear end.
