Well my first match wasnt all that great... or atleast i wasnt impressed with my scores... 6th out of 14... not too bad...
Shot my final Match with my XD.. I had over half the stages in my possesion... all "A" Zones and several seconds above the fastest man.
I feel more confident now..
I Dry fired and praticed my stance along with trigger control with my XD alot and then just put it down... 4weeks later i put it in my range bag and go to the Match. I knew the "training" would pay off! First stage i Aced it,, all that training myself in the living room payed off, Everything was done by instinct, didnt have to think about any of my movements. They all came natural. But on the targets 5yds and under were just point and shoot... got several targets that i could cover both bullet holes with my thumb Out to 12yds and they were all in the Center "A" zone... BEAUTIFUL!!! Front sight, Press... Front sight, Press...
Im really proud of myself now.. and have alot more faith in my XD...
Double taps were done without thinking..
Half the revolver guys kept having problems with Reloads... it was sad but they can shoot!!
Had one guy that had a Poof..... Man did the range get loud!! All at once every body started yelling... Good thing is the bullet got caught in the barrel and cylinder, so he could not have gotten another shot off. He froze when it all happened. Im glad everyone pays that much attention at our matches.
All in all we had a good time together. So it was well worth it.
A Newbie (me) can shoot 2 ICORE Matches for free.... Ya know to get your feet wet and its a good place to start because your shooting a Semi-Auto with 10rd mag against guys with 6 shot revolvers.... Im hooked now.. im goin on to IDPA and IPSC!!!
OH and BTW,,, i got 2nd overall...
First place had a score of 111.73 (my RSO and good buddy)
Second place- 128.2 (ME )
Third place- 137.31 (match director)
But in the Semi-Auto class i had the top score of 128.2 followed by 2nd place with 179.12.. Thats 50.92 seconds ahead of 3rd place with only 5 stages of fire!!!
As you can see im extremely proud of myself!!
In the Semi Class the top 3 pistols were XD... My XD Service 4" .40 w/Heine Night Sights (thanks BigED
), Second place guy had a XD SC 9mm and my buddy in third place had a XD Service 9MM.
4th 5th and 6th were Glock 17s i think... 9mm.
So next Match will be either IDPA or IPSC..
They dont want none
Next is 3 Gun Matchs!!!
XD
Bushmaster M4
Winchester 120 Ranger

Since he was shooting a revolver and the bullet lodged half way in the barrel and cylinder he could not have gotten another shot off.. So they had to go to the safe zone and get a hammer and dowel to drive the bullet back into the cylinder to get the cylinder open.
Got it?
