Question about Cops in Texas
#1
I live in a small town and there are 4 black ECSB sportsides and 3 ECSB fleetsides [all NBS]. A few months ago, a cop pulled me over and said that he got a report of a black truck driving recklessly. He proceeds to accuse me of stealing the new wheels that are in the bed of my truck along with some old rusty headers. Well after I showed him the receipt for the wheels and point out my 86 chevy truck that the headers came from, he shuts up about that. Then he tells me that next time he gets a call about a black truck, I'm going to get that ticket. I asked him "even if you didn't see me do anything?" and he said yep. My wife and brother in law heard him say it too. After he left, I called the sheriff's office and the receptionist told me that some cops have the authority to do that. It's bullshit because there are too many black trucks in town for him to single me out(hell, I own 2 of them). There's 7 black NBS's and 4 OBS's, but I was the only one who got stopped that night. And it wasn't like he didn't see all the other ones out that night, because most of us were at the same party when we saw them later that night. But my thing is that they constantly follow me around town. Not just pull in behind me, but peel out and floor it(and cut off other drivers) just to get within a few feet of my bumper and escort me to my next stop. They circle around my house repeatedly....just slowly creeping by my house as if to see something. Sometimes they'll see me and my wife and kid sitting outside and come flying by as fast as they can...just to stop at the end of the block and turn. Is that harassment? I don't have any tickets. Never been in trouble except for a felony charge that was dismissed and erased from my record(got accused of robbing a store - wrong place@the wrong time). But other than that I'm clean. Is there anything I can do to get them off my ***? It's just uncomfortable to be tailgated everywhere and watched all the time. They park at the end of my block and they wait for me there all the time.

Move out of the area.
In reality, they can ticket you all they want. A ticket does not imply guilt. You can go to court and fight it. If you do that and win enough you can document harrassment.

Citizens arrest and arrest them for stalking. Lol
Actually I think (probably wrong here but someone will correct me) you can put a restraining order on a person, even a cop so that they have to keep their distance. Not sure what it takes for that to happen though. And if you live in a small enough town I bet you all the cops are chums so honestly I think your scewed.

Document, document, document. Keep a record of what patrol car is following you at what time and what day. That way if you have to prove harrasment you can. Otherwise I would ride with a friend if I were going to do something wrong.

I live in a border town where everybody is family. I'm pretty much an outsider. It might be easier to just move, but my wife's family and friends are all here and I want her to have that. But does it sound like harassment to you guys? Like I said, there are 4 black sportside trucks that are pretty similar. We all have some type of exhaust, but the average person can't tell the difference. The friend does 145MPH in the 55 zone(A certain sponsor on here can vouch for that) and the neighbor always does 50+ on our 40mph road. But I'm the one that's being followed all the time eventhough those two were reported by name. This **** is crazy.
