The whole Flood Insurance issue, to me, is a null topic. Assume 100% of the people in New Orleans had Flood insurance. All the insurance agencies combined in that area won't be able to pay out enough money to help everyone. They need to just be adults and move on. If your gonna run across a busy intersection, don't get pissed off if you get clipped by a car doing 80.
Theres a few people around here that live in flood zones and they have their house up off the ground.

The whole leve system shows how stupid the human race can be at times IMO. I mean ****.... 3/4 of the earth is water
Build 1/2 the city below water level,
a natural and fairly frequent occurance happens that causes the water level to rise,
your house gets wet.......is there something i'm missing here?

I agree with everyone on this one. My great aunt lives down there and during the strom they evacuated and came to stay with us in NC. When they went back their house was totaly under water. Now they got a new but smaller house and just kinda wating on the insurance money. They dont want help from the gov. and are not lookin for hand outs. But these other people are makin sick talkin about how the are suffering and **** like that they need just to start a new life take their loss and move on!!!!!

I hate to say it but in some ways I do blame the government on this one. They should make the entire area that is below sea level un-inhabitable and not issue building permits or build any public housing on it. Make it a wildlife preservation. Because this WILL happen again. It is just a matter of time.

I am not sure of the "actual" possibility of sending that many people "else where", it would be a larger nightmare than now. Not saying I disagree, I read the article in the paper Thursday and just laughed, so fugging typical. People just think they have something coming to them at all times. They get fired for not going to work and then go right to the unemployment office to file a claim for compensation.
Anyway...just posting to make sure you save this webpage in your favorites, I bet you bring back from the dead in your life time and say, "Told you so...happened again."
