Alright guys, I will repeat only what I was told.
GTOLS1TRUCK initially contacted me for the install, and I couldn't get to it in a timely enough manner, so I recommended him to CEOffroad (Mark).
The first time the gears made noise, it was agreed between GTOLS1TRUCK and I that the gears were not broken in properly. When I told him about the 500 mile rule, he seemed suprised. Apparently he has been told that you can romp on it right out of the shop and be fine.
Mark ordered another set of gears (GTOLS1TRUCK's dime), and did the 2nd install for free (per a phone conversation with Mark). This time, I repeated the 500 Mile Rule to GTOLS1TRUCK and stressed that he follow it. Well, after 300 miles, I get a call that the gears are noisy again. Not to jump to conclusions, I told GTOLS1TRUCK to come to my house so I could check the install. The install was flawless, but the pinion gear had a step worn into the teeth which caused a lot of heat, noise, and excessive backlash.
I took pictures of what I saw and sent them to Mark, he concluded that it was a flawed gearset, and I agreed since the gears didn't make any noise until there were 300 miles on them. Mark sent the pictures to Yukon gear and they wouldn't warranty them because they said that the gears weren't broken in properly.
I do have a few more things to clear up, but for now, I will not be pushing Yukon gears until I know what is going on. For those who have Yukons already, I wouldn't worry about a thing. If they are quiet and performing well, then they will continue to do so.
I will chime back in once I get the last of my questions answered.
