I know what you are saying, also when charlie installed yukon gears on his truck, he also had the same problems, I guess bad set??? he just took them out and put some richmond's in there... and if I think hard enough I could probably find out of another 1-2 people that had problems with yukons, and they are all 4.11's... weird stuff but it does happen...

I do believe Charlies gears where whining because he had cheap gear oil (no name brand) in there and the oil was breaking down prematurely causeing them to whine.

I dont know if I just got lucky but I got my gears installed and put a beatin on them. 4-5 nasty burnouts and 4 passes at track way before 500 miles and no problems. I dont have yukons I have (aam) oe gears but still my installer didnt say anything about a break-in period. Bottom line is sammy got screwed and like ap said sorry as customer service on their part.

again thats my .02
Your 100% right man, it comes down to opinion and you didn't bash brian and i apologize if it came across as sounding like i said you did cause that wasn't the intent. also you are 100% correct that it wasn't you or sammy that started this thread, and i agree that the fact that your rear-end has held to the freakish 60fts that your truck puts down is a testament to brians install right there. i think that this whole thing has snowballed from a bad customer service experience to a lynch mob for no reason. and to be honest sammy isnt helping by blatently telling others to F off since it is just an opinion and no one is here to attack anyone. I think its time to put this thread to rest before it gets outta hand.

again just my $0.02

bryan is a good gear installer. but i believe that he should take care of the people who want a gear install from him, not send them to someone else. just set a date for the installation to be done and get it taken care of. It if would of been me, i would have waited for bryan, just like i did when he installed mine last year. although he kept pushin my install date back several times. as far as mark goes.... i would never go to him for a gear install. i think doing a small burnout right out the shop doesnt **** anything up.... just like if you get a brand new truck from the dealership and abuse the **** out of it. nothing should go wrong if everything is installed correctly. i have witness such events with buddys gettin new vehicles. my opinion is that it was either bad gears or bad install, could have been both. but next time i get gears installed it will be with pyle bros or that guy ap is talkin about. my friend got his rear end narrowed and got some new gears put in (u.s strange) by pyle bros, they didnt tell him anything about a break in period because i drove him to baytown to pick it up. he left the shop hauling *** and drove 70-75mph all the way to beltway 8 and 288. thats around 30 miles or more. his rear end never made a noise. burnouts, track passes, and constant highway driving before the 500 miles. so, if you think "improper" break in was the issue here, i seriously doubt it. shitty install and bad gears !!!! and most of all, bad customer service to say the least.

All right to put it to rest. I was screwed out of a lot of money here no matter who it was that did the screwing (RR&P or installer). For future reference to any one reading, do ur self a favor and due your homework before u get your gears done (parts and labor). I hope this prevents any customer from getting fucked like me. Its a shitty feeling and i dont wish it upon nobody. I hope every one learned something from all of this. As for Bryan, well my 3 73 are kickin *** so just a word of advise RESEARCH YUKON A LIL BIT . Just so every one knows, my 3 73 's i got done at Pyle bros back in 02 and drove the **** out of them leavin the parking lot, never had a problem. As for me well who else can say they have a $1500 posi.

I tried to set a date. Sam wanted them done sooner. That is why I recommended Mark.

Sam, do not throw away the 4.10s I pulled from your truck.

Also, I will be looking in to Yukon's hardening procedure to get to the bottom of all of this for good. I will post up once my questions are answered from their tech department.
