machine shop charges - "shop supplies" - added pics
Is this usual? It wasn't quoted to me in the begining. This is my first time to have any machine work ever, so this is a new one.

I've see it at some shops and dealerships, usually like 2% of the labor bill to pay for things like shop towel, solvent, cleaners and crap like that. Kind of a bs thing if you ask me, that stuff should be covered in there shop rate anyway.

the shop supplies popped up back when delivery companies started that "fuel surcharge" crap. the rest of normal people have to deal with gas prices going up, not like we can ask for a raise everytime gas goes up, but these freight companies (and airlines) can ask for extra depending on gas rates. So shops add on what they can and just call it something you could imagine would cost extra. like its not covered under the overhead costs already? LIke eviromental fees? wtf?
