I have these dumb neighbors that love to call and come over to fuss that i make too much noise. Even tried to serve papers on us at the court house at one point. We live in the freakin country, so theres no "law" that ive broken by shooting alot.
I was out Saturday evening just shooting my .40. Drawing and firing one shot at a target and reholstering. I went thru all 7 mags and went back to my reloading room to fill the mags again. My cell rings and my cousin across the road gave me a heads up that i had a visitor comeing down the driveway (roughly 200yards). Neighbor said i was upsetting them and the dogs were tearing up the screens trying to get back into the house cause they were scared.
I told her i was sorry and that i would quit for the evening. Her husband drives up and she gets in the truck and they leave.
These people are always complaining either i shoot too much, music is too loud (yea right, my parents cant hear it in our house 30yards away from the shop but they can hear it 200yds away), or truck exhaust is too loud (psh)
I tell my dad what happened and he told me next time just ignore and blast away. Its his land and he pays the taxes, so nobody is goin to tell us what we can do or not do.
Might sit down this evening and run all the mags thru my AR. Thats a good 800 rounds, plus another 1500 on stripper clips.
What would yall do?
Im thinking about putting a sign up at the end of our driveway that says
"Please excuse the noise, Its the sound of Freedom"

Put up a DO NOT ENTER - PRIVATE PROPERTY sign, shoot all you want and if they come over again, call the police and have them arrested for Trespassing !

Shoot away. Their dogs will be fine. I would tell them to move back to the city. I am assuming that is where they are from. I have had simialar problems with a someone that moved from the city to the country wanting to live the "country life". The cops came out and told us that we had the right to do what we wanted as far as noise untill 9.00 pm. BTW I like the sign idea.
