I am looking to pick up a trailer to haul my truck before the trip to Hattiesburg in Nov. I would prefer a used one in good shape for obvious cost reasons but would consider a new one if the price was right. I have been checking various classifieds, ebay and craigslist but have yet to find any great deals. Most everything I find are 16'ers. Since the truck is 17' bumper to bumper, I really don't want it hanging off a 16' trailer. If any of you know of any good deals, please lmk.

I can fit an ecsb on a 16'er fine, I would feel perfectly safe running your rcsb on a 16' trailer and they are cheaper, make sure you get one with trailer brakes, makes a world of difference.

Is that 16' overall or 16' deck with extra 2-4" dove tail? I have seen trailer manufacturers designate both ways, by flat deck only and overall length. My truck measures 17' bumper to bumper. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting it on a 16' overall and having it hang over especially since it will have to be positioned more to the back for proper weight distribution.
Brakes are absolutely a must. My Hoe has a hard enough time stopping it's self when full of passangers. Everything I have looked at so far has only had brakes on one axle. If I find out that is not enough, I can easily put brakes on the other axle myself.

Picked one up today. It is a Built-Rite in good shape but needs a little TLC. The deck was recently replaced but with mismatched wood. 3/4 of the deck was done right with No1 treated straight boards, the center boards were an afterthought as he was going to leave it open so they are cheap No2 treated boards that are not so straight. I also need to replace the channel between the deck and tail that hold the boards down as it is a bit 'rigged' now. I also need one new wheel and a whole set of tires. All four tires are different sizes and are not trailer rated tires so that is priority #1. I will eventually strip it down, have it blasted and repainted or powercoated. There are a couple other small things I will customize once I get my welder for Christmas. All in all the trailer is built right (excuse the pun) and is great structurally. I got a pretty good deal so I can deal with the small stuff.
