I just sold my XD40 Sub compact for a Kimber Ultra carry II with Crimson Trace laser sights. I loved my XD ( I had 2 of them, 40 & 45), but it doesnt even compare to the Kimber.

This will be my gun for Xmas.

Not for the pro carry II's. I picked mine up for a hundred more then my XD40. Both were new. Springfield's micro compact 1911 is sold for around $550. The XD's from what I have seen have jumped up in price.
They are well worth the extra money. Plus the aftermarket for the 1911's are abundant, and for the long run the kimber will outlast and out perform the SAXD's. I will buy another XD, but not for a carry weapon.
If you want a low price gun, that is pretty good, look at the Taurus millienium pro's. The 9mm is around $300 and the 45 is $320. Lifetime warranty, I have shot both, and they shoot extremly well.
